As a life coach and strategist I know the importance of intentional living. I didn’t always recognize the importance of stewarding my life. However, the day the light came on I became intentionally focused on identifying, and fulfilling the Lord’s purpose for my life.
The Scriptures say that the Lord jealousy desires the Spirit, or anointing that He placed in us. (James 4:5) He longs for the seeds of destiny deposited within us to produce a yield and bring into fruition His purpose for our lives.
The great thing about coaching others is that the Holy Spirit is the Master Coach that is already at work in each individual’s life. My job is to help them recognize His signature stamp.
Have you ever stopped to notice the Lord coming as Coach to prepare you for the great works He intends to manifest through your life? If you haven’t recognized His on going work, take note of the way He initiates through experiences, encounters, circumstances and works in your life. If you thought you suddenly came up with a great idea to pursue a course of action, study, or manner of prayer, you didn’t. The Holy Spirit was sent as a teacher, counselor, and a coach of sorts to lead us. He is behind the scenes jealously yearning, as is all creation that we would manifest as the glorious son’s of God. (Romans 8: 19)
I love what the Apostle Paul wrote about this process.
“God does not respond to what we do; we respond to what God does…Our lives get into step with God and all others by letting Him set the pace…God sets right all who welcome His action and enter into it.” (Romans 3:28, 30 MSG)
Remember Abraham's initiation when he was quite old and informed by God that he would have more offspring than the number of stars in the sky? You can imagine the perplexity of the situation, since he had not yet one child. What God initiates doesn’t always look concrete, or rational, and that is why the work of the Holy Spirit can’t be underplayed. He guides us into all truth, as He works to initiate His wisdom, truth and action in our lives, giving us signs like Abraham along the way.
“Surely you desire truth in the inner parts; you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.” (Psalm 51:6)
The Holy Spirit is at work as the Master Coach to make His Bride ready to walk in purity and to do, “greater works then these” as it is written. Have you checked in with the Master Coach lately to determine His plan for your life? Are you simply letting each day roll in and out lost in an ocean of time, or are you doing your part to steward this one life you’ve been given? Think about whether you need to work with a coach to navigate your path. The Lord jealousy desires the Spirit in you for a great purpose!
