A Curvaceous Life

I love the word curvaceous. Doesn’t it have an engaging sound? Recently when I read the word in a magazine I knew I wanted to explore the feelings it conjured up in my gut, as if the window had just been opened letting in a fresh breeze.

What strikes me the most about the word, aside from the fact that the definition relates to a well-shaped woman with voluptuous curves, is that it sounds abundant, multi-faceted and not in the least bit linear.

I am the type of person that loves options. A perceptive person knows they will see me thrive if I am given choices. I don’t like to be locked into a box, but rather love to explore, create and imagine the possibilities.

I think the same is true of our friend curvaceous. There is nothing limiting about its sound. The connotation that spring off the melodious spray of the word gives the impression of wide open spaces, bustling life and abundance. You may think I am reading more into it than exists, but let me ask you, what kind of curvaceousness do you see in your life? Do you feel drawn and tired, or do you feel endowed with possibilities, ample space to breath, create and live?

If you are lacking certain curvaceousness in your life, (not implying the well-shaped female kind) what type of curvaceousness do you envision for yourself? What can you do to open the window of your soul and allow a fresh curvaceous breeze to open up new space, usher in new rhythm and a pulsing heartbeat for life?

Take a moment to jot down words that relay the positive feelings you get from the idea of a curvaceous life. Then define one way you can do something for yourself this week to expand that feeling of curvaceousness, as you begin to move toward greater liberty and possibility.
