I don’t know if you are like me, but sometimes I let the “buzz” of the moment get to me. I surrender the solid standing I have as God’s child and get blown by the wind of someone else’s opinion.
That’s what my friend and I were praying about yesterday after she received an email commenting on the way she looked in one of her photographs. The person loved the fruit of my friend’s ministry, but questioned if her attire was appropriate for a Christian.
It made me wonder, what a Christian woman looks like anyway. If you live in California the standard would be entirely different than in a more conservative city and different still in other regions of the world.
It’s tough being placed under a microscope and measured according to an individual’s standard. There is just no way we will satisfy every person’s measuring stick. What one of us would ever measure up? None! And we aren't suppose to!
On the days when we are tempted to be moved by the current “buzz” its important to remember that “Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.” If you are feeling like you are not measuring up today, say along with me, “I am made in the image of God” and that is all you need to remember
