Sought Out

Do you ever struggle with feeling forgotten by God? Are you wondering if He sees you struggling to stay afloat in this economy? While others are experiencing the favor of God, are you afraid that God looks at you like the forgotten step child?

While the Lord has a message very contrary to our old tapes, many of us struggle with old messages from the past lodged in our subconscious. Last week I had a dream where the Lord showed me an old message and instructed me to break all alliances with the lie. Right there as I slept amidst my dream, I denounced every agreement I made even as a small child with a lie that told me I was less that what God says about me.

In Isaiah 62, the Lord fervently spoke a message to His people through Isaiah the prophet that was far from indifference, and we can receive the same message for ourselves. He spoke passionate words saying that He couldn't contain Himself from speaking out, and wouldn’t keep silent about His beloved until her brightness went forth like a torch, her glory displayed before nations and kings. That hardly sounds like a forgotten step child, does it?

Still speaking of His beloved Bride, He said He calls her by a new name, not one from the old familiar shame that many tote around. "You will be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord... You shall no longer be termed forsaken, Nor...desolate. For the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married...You shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken." Isaiah 62: 3, 4, 12

When someone is chosen for marriage, they’re sought out, and held in high esteem, definitely not forsaken! Did you know that is God’s heart for you today?

When old familiar messages start ranting in our head, its time to break all agreement with the lies and stand firmly on the truth that sets us free. The truth is: God calls us His delight and we are a crown of beauty in His hand, Sought Out and not forsaken!
