While recently in LA, I had a couple of significant dreams. Scripture is filled with examples of the Lord speaking through dreams. Peter quoted Joel in the book of Acts, stating that God would pour out His Spirit on mankind and that many would prophesy, see visions and have dreams given by God. (Acts 2:17)
In one of my dreams I was in school with a bunch of teenage kids and there was a bully that continually attacked, throwing knives, shovels and anything he could use. The kids always subdued him, but he never let up on his vicious antics.
Then at 4:00 A.M., I woke up from my dream, because I heard noises outside our hotel room. I called the front desk and complained. The congenial lady at the front desk replied, "Mrs. Britner, I will send security to take care of it right away." I hung up the phone and immediately the noise ceased. I was reminded of David's response to the noise he heard amidst a battle. When he responded to the sound of the wind in the trees and took action, God went before him to subdue his enemy. (2 Samuel 5:24)
I fell back asleep and continued the dream. In the dream I learned that everyone was getting ready for graduation ceremonies, the END OF SEASON SPORTS CEREMONIES! I found out at the last minute about my particular teams ceremony. I would have missed it if I didn't get word.
Then even though I heard about the graduation, I found out that my name wasn't on the list for the ceremony. However, because my name was on the list in the dream I had the night before of those being released to speak, I knew that this graduation to a higher level must be contended for. Then I saw a boy that didn't know about any of the information concerning the graduation, because he didn't have a cell phone. I offered to lend him mine.
When I woke up from the dream, I was very aware that it was highlighting the continuous battle that rages around us and the need to go to straight to the front desk, or Head Quarters instead of battling in our own strength.
It is clear that we are at the end of a season, a season shift, and ca shift is occurring. For many that means a necessary wake up call, so not to miss what God is doing in their lives and their promotion to a higher place. It is necessary that we stay in the loop, attentively listening and watching for the coordinates, and contending for this new place the Lord is allowing us to graduate into.
There is also accountability for helping those on our team who are straggling behind, (the boy without the cell phone). We aren’t in this alone. The body of Christ is one entity. It is always necessary when on a team to play by the rules, God's rules, and when we do there will be advancement.
There is a clarion trumpet call. It is time that we as the body become contenders. We don’t want to be those who miss the graduation, because we are oblivious to what God is doing in the earth. We need to be alert and attentive to the sound of His movement and respond. He reveals His secrets to His friends, so let’s draw close to our friend, Jesus.
