Out of the Box Solutions

We were created by an uncontainable God, whose works teeter on the edge of creative child’s play. Just look at the evidence; whales jumping so high you wonder if they are trying to fly, and plants that snap like turtles to ingest their prey. And what about the rainbow bee-eater bird colored with a paint splattered motif. Yes, I’d say God is child like in His expressive, multi-dimensional, creativity, all of which can’t be missed if we just look around.

One of my favorite stories in the Bible is in Acts 16:25, when one night Paul and Silas were in prison singing. What happened next could only be described as a supernatural God at play. As Paul and Silas’s voices rang out in praise to God midst their dire circumstances, suddenly an earthquake shook the whole prison house, the doors immediately opened, chains broke loose and everyone was free! A child couldn’t have written a more imaginative story.

Or what about the time Jesus healed a blind man by spitting in his eyes! (Mark 8:23)
Or the time He spit on the ground, making the dirt good and muddy to use as a healing balm that restored sight. (John 9:6)

What does this mean to a world with rampant blindness, as if it were this season’s new black? 1 Cor. 1:25, tells us that “the foolishness of God is wiser than men.” God’s foolishness is just plain smart!

We have to remember that there is a God who still works creative miracles and no matter what we face, He will never stop creating, moving, or orchestrating in the lives of man. Even though the world seems to be running full speed ahead into captivity, like a runner in a 50 yard dash, this industrial sized God has made a way out! He is taking claim to what is His as He did with Paul and Silas. And He wants to release His creative power through the lives of regular people like you and me, to loosen shackles, open prison doors and heal blindness, as He takes possession of what is His and the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lords! (Revelations 11:15)
